  • why have stories without pictures?

My son is using the Kindergarten curriculum. Yesterday, I noticed that the story that we were to read in the Poems and Prose book was almost the same as a book that we already own, "Caps for Sale." I used the storybook with pictures rather than read him the story out of the prose section. I...

  • Lesson 20 envelope too small

Hi, My son just finished lesson 20 of the kindergarten curriculum, and I'm trying to shove all those papers and forms in the envelope provided. Do I have to use that particular envelope? Also, do you send more envelopes for the next groups of papers that I need to send in? Thanks for your help.

  • time schedule

After just a few letters, he gets bored and wants to do something else. He does great on other assignments (such...

I figure it won't take us the entire year to finish the Saxon K program, if we are still doing it in July and August I will put a label over two months that we won't be using. We do school four days a week and use Saxon everyday instead of a few times a week like they recommend. Also, my son...
  • Re: Saxon K math

Hi Jen, We are also doing Calvert K and just added Saxon Math K last week. To get around the September to June calendar problem I adjusted the colors to correspond with where we are now. For example, the colors for September are light green and orange. I made them the colors for January, the colors for...
  • Kindergarden Math

I have noticed in other posts that some people add Saxon or Horizon math to the Calvert K program. I was wondering would they go with the K math or grade 1. Is one program better than the other. I love the Calvert program I just find in the math my daughter is moving very quickly and finds it easy. I...
